 OpenWarfare 1.6.5 Final
Dear OpenWarfare Community,

The project was born on May 7th, 2008, out of a personal need to have a mod to support matches and small tweaks to the stock gameplay. In addition to that, I wanted to create something that will help people get introduced to the art of modding. I never thought the project will grow so quickly in such a short time period and become one of the most successful mods out there for the Call of Duty games but when you have such a great group of people helping with the development, things can only move in the right direction.

It's evident that after the MW2 fiasco with the lack of dedicated servers and modding tools and the upcoming release of BF:BC2 people will be moving to greener pastures and only the hardcore clans will keep playing MW or WaW.

I think it's time for OpenWarfare to declare mission accomplished. For this reason OpenWarfare 1.6.5 will be the last version of OpenWarfare. In this last version we'll concentrate in adding small things already requested and fix any pending bugs. This version is scheduled to be released at the end of January so it will give us enough time to test everything as much as we can.

I have personally enjoyed working on this project and I wish to thank everyone for your support over the past twenty or so months. It was a huge challenge since the beginning but the feeling of accomplishment at the end is really worth it.

The forums WILL NOT be shutdown and as long as there's money in the piggy bank we'll keep them running to still answer any support questions that you might have.

Regards,
t3chn0r
