Post [1.6.3] Retrieval gametype
It has been implemented on both games already (sound is still not working in WaW though)...

Gametype description from the attackers side:

Waypoints in the map showing the goal zone location as well as the locations of the objectives to be retrieved:

One of the objectives (objectives' model are the same but they are marked as A and B, one contain Encryption Keys and the other one an Spy list):

Gametype has been committed to the SVN in both games... I still need to check the sounds in WaW as they don't work when an objective is picked up, dropped, returned, captured, etc...

Sounds added... It seems to me Treyarch forgot to add those standard sounds to the game and they are even using them in CTF themselves! I just moved the sounds from MW to WaW and now CTF is also working... :slaphead:

Great work t3chn0r! :excited: :gj: :drunk: One of the better gametypes for the game 8-) .

Question. Will there be an option, as in SAB or any other gametype to mark, or not mark, the player retrieving the object?

The model for the book in WaW has been changed to the same model we use in MW... The other one was very small...

Sweeeet! :)

In other mods it was necessary to enable the minimap to find the objects to retrieve (the icons weren't helpful and the minimap wouldn't show exact locations and one object was a small VHS tape that was very difficult to find even with the minimap, I know the notebooks are bigger than that thank God ) and they would also mark the retriever with a big star as a default which makes the whole game an exercise in futility because the one team would camp the retrieval site and watch the retriever approach the site on the minimap and shoot the player and send the object back. You could turn that off but it was the default.

The defenders will always camp the retrieval site but as long as they don't know where and what direction the retriever is approaching from it makes things as fair as possible.

One other question. Will the defenders be able to send the object back to where it spawned or is it like the CTF setting where you have to wait for a set time and it will return automatically as long as the retrievers don't pick it up?
