 Greed Gametype 

Any interest in implementing this gametype in COD?

OpenWarfare COD4:MW 4.180.ALPHA1 is ready for download, you can go here to get it...

Couple of things, variables for the new gametype are in the file configs/gametypes/teamgreed.cfg, remember to add a line to execute that new file inside configs/openwarfare.cfg if you are updating an existing server.

To recap how the gametype is played:
  • Players need to collect dogtags dropped by fallen players and take them to the drop zone marked in the map (blue square).
  • When players are killed a colored orb-type effect will float above their body indicating the amount of dogtags being dropped. Green (1), Yellow (2+), Purple (5+), or Red (10+).
  • When a player carrying 10+ dogtags is killed they will also be marked in the minimap and in the world to quickly show players where these "high concentration of dogtags" are located.
  • Players do not increase their score when killing enemies.
  • Players can increase their score through 3 different actions: kill enemies carrying dogtags within 15 meters of the enemy's drop zone, collecting dogtags from fallen players, and capturing dogtags by taking them to their own drop zone.

I will have to try that out. Shame it cannot have items that shoot out everywhere (think 'Sonic') when the carrier dies. Gives it that extra little bit it effort needed to run and collect them all instead of just picking up a bag.

Unless perhaps a new weapontype could be created based on a grenade but without all the animations etc. When the player dies give him the weapon+ammo and fire off 10 "nades" in random directions. Then treat them as weapon pickups. Similar to marty actually but they dont explode.

edit: Ooops. Cant be a variation on a marty nade drop if they are to be thown. I think. :D

I can't seem to download the new version. It gets about half way and stops then after a few minutes I get a message saying the server was reset. :cry:

Is this going to be added to the svn web repository? If so I'll wait on that.

EDIT: Oh wow just noticed this is for MW will you be adding it to WAW?

Now working on "Greed", the non-team based version... It should be finished today.

@Jaxon, eveything should be committed to the SVN once I move all the changes to WaW. Not later than end of the next week.

4.180.ALPHA2 is ready for download containing both gametypes "Team Greed" and "Greed"... I think for people playing non-team based gametypes "Greed" is going to be a lot of fun... ;-)
