What is OpenWarfare:ProCompetitivePlay?

OpenWarfare:ProCompetitivePlay or
OpenWarfare:PCP is a tailored version of OpenWarfare directed at
competitive play without making drastic
changes to the stockgame .

OpenWarfare:PCP removes a lot
of the features from OpenWarfare but it also adds some new features needed
in competitive play. By having only the features necessary for competitive
play we ensure a small footprint with the size of the mod being around 1MB
making it a fast download while at the same time, making sure that all the
custom maps will work fine with the mod as we don't introduce new models,
sounds, and special effects.

The main idea then behind creating
OpenWarfare:PCP is to provide a simple although robust mod to the community
for competitive play and because the list of features is somehow small when
compared to OpenWarfare it should be easier to port into new versions of
the game.

OpenWarfare:PCP...
Statistics : Posted by t3chn0r • on Thu Jul 08, 2010 2:32 pm • Replies 0 • Views 367

Can I have different settings for different maps/gametypes?

Can I have different settings for
different maps orgametypes?

[color=#FFFF80] Yes, most of
the variables in OpenWarfare support an extended mode where the map,
gametype or server load (or all) can be specified in the variable name.
These type of variables will have precedence over the variables without
map, gametype or server load. So, for example, let's say we want to disable
the helicopter for Shipment (any gametype) and for any map in Free For All.
To do this we will first set the normal variable<span style="font-style:

for everything, we'll set<span

disable the helicopter for that map, and we'll set<span style="font-weight:

Setting up a local redirect HTTP server for LAN

I will show you how to setup a local HTTP redirect server in your PC to
allow other players to download the mod files and/or custom maps directly
from your PC at super high speeds. We will be setting up the HTTP server to
provide files for both games, Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of
Duty: World At War.

I willassume:

The IP of your PC
is192.168.1.24.

You have installed the mod already on
yourPC

The root directory for the games are the following:
Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare -> C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of
Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\
Call of Duty: World At War -> C:\Program
Files\Activision\Call of Duty - World atWar\

1. The
first thing we need to do is isntall the HTTP server we'll be using. For
this I'm going to use HFS, HFS is very simple but powerful HTTP File Server
and it's free to use. It can be downloaded directly from the developer's
website
